What is psychoanalysis?
Psychoanalysis or psychoanalytic therapy is a therapeutic method that aims at exploring unconscious patterns, emotions and experiences that are somehow related to the way people feel and behave in their current lives. This process will enable a deeper understanding of one's emotional functioning and therefore improve their mental health.
When is it useful?
Some of the most common reasons to start psychoanalytic therapy are:
A desire of self-knowledge to improve one's quality of life.
Going through an emotionally challenging moment
Anxiety, depression, stress or any other kind of mental health difficulty.
What is a therapy session like?
A therapy session is a judgement-free space where any topic, memory or issue can be addressed and analyzed.
By listening to my clients with full attention and no judgement, I am able to point, analyze and interpret parts of their emotional scenario that they might not be aware of and that have an impact on their current life.
Hello! I'm Ana, a Barcelona-based psychologist and psychoanalist. As a therapist, my role is to walk alongside my clients to in their quest for self-knowledge, personal development and relief of their emotional discomfort. On both a professional and personal note, what makes me passionate about psychoanalysis is its potential to dive deep into the layers of one's emotional life. This allows us to acknowledge sides of our mind that have remained unknown (and therefore, neglected), explore them, elaborate them and as a consequence, improve our mental health. This is a journey that requires consistency, patience and courage and, if you allow me, I can assist you in it.
